Family Psychological Health Consulting

Families are at the center of psychological health — how mothers navigate identity and well-being, how couples connect under stress, and how children and adolescents grow and thrive. This program offers structured, research-informed consulting for mothers, couples, parents, and children/adolescents, organized around three focus areas.

This program is educational and consultative, provided under Dr. Adwoa's PhD credentials. It is not psychotherapy and does not create a therapeutic relationship. If deeper therapeutic support is needed, referrals to psychotherapy services are available.

Track 2: Families Navigating Medical Complexity

(Faith-integrated option available)

Support for the families the world doesn't always see.

Raising a child with medical complexity, disability, or neurodivergence changes everything — routines, marriage, sibling dynamics, identity, faith. You don't need a crisis to deserve support — through consulting grounded in Dr. Adwoa's PhD research and clinical training.

This track helps parents, caregivers, and couples build understanding and practical strategies around:

  • A child's diagnosis, medical complexity, or developmental difference

  • Neurodivergence and disability within the family system

  • Caregiver burnout and emotional overwhelm

  • Feeding, eating, and mealtime challenges

  • Sibling and marital strain related to caregiving

Family Complexity Assessment (single 60-min session) — A focused consultation to map your family's current stressors, routines, and support needs around your child's diagnosis or care. You'll receive a written summary with personalized recommendations within one week.

Caregiving Reset (3-session package) — Session 1: Assessment · Session 2: Strategy & Coping Plan · Session 3: Check-In & Next Steps. Includes a written recap and evolving family support plan after each session.

Ongoing Caregiving Support (monthly, 4 sessions) — Continued, hands-on support as diagnosis, routines, or family needs evolve.

Faith-integrated support — incorporating your spiritual life and values into the consulting process — is available on request.

Track 3: Family Nutritional Psychology

(Pediatric Feeding & Family Nutritional Psychology)

Feeding challenges affect the whole family, not just mealtime. As a TR-Eat trained pediatric feeding consultant with PhD-level training in family and health psychology, I offer consulting — not therapy in this track — to help parents understand the psychology behind food refusal and mealtime stress, and build calmer, more connected family meals.

Family Food Assessment (single 60-min session) — A focused consultation to explore your child's feeding patterns, mealtime dynamics, and family stress points around food. You'll receive a written summary with personalized recommendations within one week.

Feeding Reset (3-session package) — Session 1: Assessment · Session 2: Strategy & Plan · Session 3: Check-In & Next Steps. Includes a written recap and evolving family feeding plan after each session.

Ongoing Feeding Support (monthly, 4 sessions) — Continued, hands-on support as feeding and mealtime challenges evolve.
